Pizza Night

Now that I'm nine I can help out in the kitchen a lot. One of the things I like to make is pizza. On weekends we have "Pizza Night". My mom buys the crust from the store so it's not quite home made but it's still better than frozen. My favorite kind of pizza is extreme vegetarian (tomatoes, spinach, olives, purple onion, green pepper and of course cheese!).

Making Cake Pops

We made cake pops today! My mom didn't follow a specific recipe. She basically made a home made chocolate cake and stirred some fruit spread inside until the cake was easy to shape into balls. We popped them in the refrigerator for about an hour. Once they hardened we dipped our cake pops in melted dark chocolate and sprinkled  them with nonpareils. I can't wait to share them with my friends.

I Love Cake Pops

Yesterday my mom and dad went to Starbucks and they brought home cake pops for my brother and I. Mine was pink with white sprinkles on the top and my brothers was chocolate with marshmallows. My mom and I are going to find out how to make our own cake pops. I can't wait! I hope you enjoy the video I posted by "Bakerella".

Baking Banana Bread

One of my favorite things to do is bake. Today when I came home after school I made banana bread. I shared it with my family and they all really liked it. Here is the recipe:

Banana Bread
  • 1 cup spelt flour
  • 3/4 cup unbleached white flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 cup butter (room temperature)
  • 3/4 cup organic cane sugar
  • 2 mashed bananas

~Sift dry ingredients. Cream sugar and butter until light and creamy. Add bananas. Combine to dry ingredients until just blended.

Bake: 350 degrees for 45-60 min.
